In the UK, Sky Sports Golf is generally on channel 405 on Sky Q and Sky+ HD, with a Sky Sports subscription required to watch. Channel numbers and access can vary by device, region, and package, so the TV guide is the quickest way to confirm.
This guide explains how to find the channel, what you need to watch on a television or mobile device, and what to try if a tournament is not showing there. It also compares the main viewing options, including Sky TV, Sky Go, and NOW.
Where is the sky sports golf channel on sky?
On many UK Sky Q and Sky+ HD boxes, Sky Sports Golf is channel 405. Use the remote to enter the number or open the TV guide and look under the Sports listings.
The channel number may differ on other Sky devices or change over time. If 405 does not work, search the guide for “Sky Sports Golf” or use your remote’s voice search. That is more reliable than assuming every Sky platform uses the same numbering.
You need a Sky TV package that includes Sky Sports to watch the live channel. Having a Sky box or a standard Sky TV subscription by itself does not necessarily include Sky Sports Golf.
What does Sky Sports Golf show?
The channel focuses on live golf coverage, tournament broadcasts, and related programming. Its schedule can include events from tours such as the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, along with golf analysis and highlights. The exact lineup depends on the broadcast schedule and Sky’s rights for each event.
Not every golf event appears on this one channel. Coverage may be shown on another Sky Sports channel, through an additional stream, or by a different broadcaster. A tournament’s broadcast details can also vary by round and by day.
That matters if you switch to channel 405 and do not see the event you expected. Check the Sky TV guide or search for the tournament name before concluding that it is unavailable.
Ways to watch Sky Sports Golf
Your best option depends on whether you want to watch on a television, stream from a phone, or subscribe without a Sky TV box. These options are not identical: the available channels, device support, and subscription terms can vary.
| Option | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Sky TV | Watch the live channel through a compatible Sky box and a package that includes Sky Sports. | Regular viewing on a television |
| Sky Go | Stream eligible Sky channels on supported devices using the Sky Go app and an eligible subscription. | Watching away from your main TV |
| NOW | Watch eligible Sky Sports coverage through the NOW app with an active Sports Membership. | Streaming without a Sky TV box |
| Sky Sports+ streams | Access selected extra live sports streams where available through supported Sky services. | Finding additional coverage for some events |
Check the terms for your chosen service before subscribing. Channel access, supported devices, and the way extra event streams appear can change. A Sky Sports subscription does not guarantee that every golf event or every alternate feed will be available on every device.
How to find a golf tournament in the Sky guide
- Open the TV guide. On a Sky box, check the Sports section or enter 405 if you are using a box where Sky Sports Golf is listed there.
- Search for the event name. This can reveal coverage on another Sky Sports channel or an extra stream.
- Check the time and date. Golf coverage may run across several days, and the channel or broadcast window can change between rounds.
- Choose your viewing device. If you are away from the TV, check Sky Go or NOW, depending on your subscription and the coverage available there.
- Confirm the listing near tee time. Schedules can change, so the current guide is more useful than an old listing or a general channel number.
Searching by tournament name is often the best approach for a specific event. It checks beyond the dedicated golf channel and helps you spot extra coverage that might otherwise be easy to miss.
Can you watch Sky Sports Golf on Sky Go?
Usually, yes, if your Sky subscription includes the relevant Sky Sports access and you are signed in to Sky Go with the correct account. The app lets eligible customers stream supported channels on compatible devices, subject to Sky’s current rules and availability.
If the channel is missing, first check that the account has the right subscription. Then update the app, sign in again, and search the live channel listings. Some programs or streams may not be available in every location or on every device.
Can you watch Sky Sports Golf on NOW?
NOW offers Sky Sports coverage through its Sports Membership, so it can be an option if you do not have a Sky TV box. You watch through the NOW app on a supported device rather than tuning to a Sky channel number.
Check the current membership details and event listing before paying. The channel number 405 applies to certain Sky TV boxes; it is not a number to enter in the NOW app. Search for the channel or tournament inside the app instead.
Why might a golf event be missing from channel 405?
A quiet or unrelated program on Sky Sports Golf does not always mean the event is unavailable. Coverage may be scheduled on another Sky Sports channel, listed as a separate stream, or carried by a broadcaster outside Sky.
Also check whether the broadcast has started. Golf events can have different coverage windows, and a live broadcast may begin later than the first tee time. The event listing in your current guide can help distinguish a schedule issue from a subscription or device problem.
- Check another Sky Sports channel if the guide lists the event elsewhere.
- Search for the tournament instead of relying only on the channel number.
- Check your subscription if the listing appears but playback is blocked.
- Try the service’s app or guide again if a stream is listed but will not load.
One common mix-up is treating channel 405 as a complete directory of Sky’s golf coverage. It is a useful starting point, but searching for the event is the better way to find all available listings.
Is Sky Sports Golf free on Sky?
No. The live Sky Sports Golf channel generally requires a subscription or membership that includes Sky Sports. A Sky TV package without Sky Sports does not automatically provide access to the channel.
Some golf clips, highlights, or event coverage may be available through other services, but that is different from receiving the live Sky Sports Golf channel. Check the specific listing and subscription terms for the program you want.
For most UK Sky box viewers, channel 405 is the first place to look for Sky Sports Golf. If a particular tournament is not there, search its name in the guide because coverage may be on another channel or stream.
Before watching, confirm that your package includes Sky Sports and check the current listing on your device. If you watch away from your TV or do not have a Sky box, compare Sky Go and NOW access for the event you want.
