If you’re asking what channel is sky sports nfl in the UK, it is channel 407 on Sky TV. On Virgin Media, it is generally channel 507, but channel numbers and listings can vary by provider and package.
This guide explains where to find the channel, how to watch online, and what to check if the game you want is showing somewhere else. It also clears up a common mix-up: Sky Sports NFL does not carry every NFL game.
what channel is sky sports nfl on Sky and Virgin Media?
On a standard UK Sky TV guide, Sky Sports NFL is channel 407. Virgin Media viewers can generally find it on channel 507. The channel is part of the Sky Sports lineup, so you need a package or subscription that includes Sky Sports to watch it.
Use these numbers as a starting point, not a guarantee. Channel positions can differ with your TV provider, equipment, or package. If a number does not work, search for “Sky Sports NFL” in your on-screen guide rather than relying on an old channel list.
| How you watch | Where to look | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Sky TV | Channel 407 | Watching through a Sky box |
| Virgin Media TV | Generally channel 507 | Watching through a Virgin TV box |
| Sky Go | Live TV section or search | Streaming with an eligible Sky account |
| NOW | Sports area of the app | Streaming without a Sky TV box, with a suitable Sports Membership |
Channel numbers and streaming access may change. Check your provider’s current guide and subscription details if you cannot find the live feed.
What does Sky Sports NFL show?
Sky Sports NFL is a dedicated channel for American football coverage. Its schedule can include live NFL games, studio coverage, analysis, highlights, and other league programming. The exact lineup depends on the day and the current broadcast schedule.
It does not show every NFL game. Broadcast rights determine which matchups are available, and games may be split across Sky Sports channels. A Sunday game, for example, could appear on Sky Sports NFL while another featured game is listed on Sky Sports Main Event or a different channel.
That distinction matters if you tune in by channel number alone. Check the listing for the specific matchup and kickoff time before the game starts. The NFL schedule is published in a different time zone from the UK, so confirm the local time shown in your guide.
How to find a specific NFL game
If the game is not on channel 407, it may be on another Sky Sports channel or available through a different broadcaster. Follow these steps to check before kickoff:
- Search the TV guide for the teams. Enter one or both team names, or search “NFL,” to find the live listing.
- Check the match listing, not just the channel name. Sky Sports NFL is a dedicated option, but selected games can be shown on other Sky Sports channels.
- Confirm the kickoff time in your local time zone. Listings may display UK time, while schedules you find elsewhere may show US Eastern or Pacific time.
- Check your subscription and device. A channel can appear in the guide even when your package does not include permission to watch it.
- Refresh the guide if the listing looks wrong. Search again or restart the TV app or box if it has not updated.
This quick check prevents a common frustration: assuming the channel is unavailable when the game has simply been scheduled elsewhere.
Can you watch Sky Sports NFL online?
Yes, you can stream eligible coverage, but the right option depends on your subscription. Sky customers can generally use Sky Go on supported devices when their account and package include the relevant Sky Sports access. The live channel may appear in the app’s TV guide.
NOW offers Sky Sports content through a Sports Membership, subject to its current plan terms and availability. It does not require a Sky TV box. Look for the live channel or game in the app rather than expecting a traditional channel number.
Before kickoff, sign in and check that your subscription includes the event. Streaming rights and package access can differ from what is available through your TV provider. If you are watching away from home, confirm that your device and location are supported by the service.
What to do if channel 407 is missing
If your guide skips channel 407 or displays a message that you cannot watch it, the issue may be your provider, package, or guide rather than the channel itself. Try these checks:
- Confirm your provider. Channel 407 refers to the Sky TV lineup; other providers use different numbering.
- Check your package. Sky Sports NFL is not necessarily included with basic TV service.
- Search by channel name. Use the guide’s search function if the number is different or the lineup has changed.
- Look for the game on another channel. The event may be listed separately from the dedicated NFL channel.
- Check your provider’s current lineup. This is especially useful after a package or channel-guide change.
Also make sure you are looking at the live TV guide, not an on-demand menu. A live channel and a replay or highlight program can appear in different parts of the interface.
Does Sky Sports NFL show every NFL game?
No. Sky Sports NFL is a channel within Sky’s NFL coverage, not a single destination for every game. Which matchups are shown depends on the broadcast schedule and rights, so some games may be on other Sky Sports channels or unavailable through that channel.
If you are following a particular team, search for its game by name in the full guide. That is more reliable than assuming every Sunday or prime-time matchup will be on the same channel.
For most Sky TV viewers in the UK, Sky Sports NFL is on channel 407; Virgin Media viewers can generally find it on 507. Search the guide for the game itself, since NFL coverage can appear on other channels too.
Your next step is to check your provider’s live listings and confirm that your package includes Sky Sports before kickoff. If the channel number does not match, search by the channel name or the teams playing.
